“the sacramental life” is a space devoted to exploring the Christian faith through the lens of a sacramental worldview. Here, we approach Scripture, tradition, and daily life with the conviction that God’s grace is not only spiritual but also tangible, made visible and present in the ordinary, the material, and the liturgical. Drawing from the richness of historic Christianity, this blog reflects on how the sacraments, liturgy, and spiritual rhythms shape both our understanding of God and our participation in His ongoing work in the world.
Vita Sacramentum seeks to bridge academic reflection and pastoral care, offering insights that are thoughtful yet accessible, intellectually rigorous yet deeply devotional. It invites readers to encounter the divine in the fabric of everyday life, to see creation as charged with God’s glory, and to experience faith not merely as belief but as lived, embodied, and relational. Through study, meditation, and reflection on Scripture and tradition, this blog is a space for cultivating wonder, deepening devotion, and discovering the transformative power of a sacramentally attuned life.

Book Review: Ashes to Ashes
For most of my life I have been a non-fiction reader. I have read lots of fiction, but my primary diet is a healthy mix of history, theology, politics & theology. Recently I have been making more of a concerted effort to add more fiction into my reading diet that...
Anglo-Methodist
Something that I have said almost dogmatically the last several years is that, “everyone has a tradition, the question is do they recognize it or not.” Part of this is because I grew up in a theological landscape where there was usually an outright denial of any...
Intellectualism or Fool?

The Book of Common Prayer, the FMW & Love-Driven Justice

Church Isn’t For You
I’m going to say something unpopular. Church isn’t for you (or me). Yes, it certainly is beneficial and essential for us. But what happens at service is not ultimately about us. It is about Christ. While we are instructed by the word, encouraged by the worship, and...

The Book of Common Prayer, a very brief introduction
Writing this article as an introduction on this day is providential I would say. In the Anglican tradition the saint that is honored today is Thomas Cranmer, as March 21st 1556 is the day he was martyred by the Catholic Queen Mary. So what is the Book of Common...
Wesley & his foundation for Spirit-aliveness
John Wesley is seen as the grandfather, or great-grandfather of much of the evangelical, and charismatic movements. And right so! During the Great Awakening in England, and the advent of the Methodist movement, Wesley was the spearhead, along with his brother Charles,...
